Graphic Designer
Visionist, creative and mentor
Don't be too hasty to file Amy
away as another internet techie... behind
her extraordinary portfolio in the cold, cold
cyber-netherlands, breathes an affable,
nimble-minded, hip, funny and quirky city girl
tucked away in bucolic Napa Valley. All of
this becomes inescapably palpable as soon as
you encounter her inspiring creations in sculpture,
design, illustration and photography, animated
by her instinctive pursuit of cultural Nirvana.
Following her summa cum laude graduation
from Hofstra University in Interdisciplinary
Studies, with an emphasis on Interactive Multimedia
(completing the four-year
studies in only three), Amy has contributed
her boundless imagination to both creative
agencies and Fortune 500 companies, including
such names as Hasbro and Procter & Gamble.
An inspired teacher, Amy developed
and wrote curricula for the Electronic Media
Technology program at the University
of Cincinnati where she taught web design and
multimedia production, sitting on the department's
advisory board in her "free time".
Since 1996, Amy has designed for
the web, driven by a philosophy centering on
a no-nonsense foundation of usability, grounded
upon a two-year association with Jakob
Nielsen, dubbed by Fortune Magazine as the "reigning guru
of web page usability".
Amy's vocational perspective is simple,
as this down-to-earth Phi
Beta Kappa enthusiastically proclaims that
she lives for design. Judging by the life that
radiates from her inspired inventions, we're
inclined to believe it may be the other
way around.
