A marine biologist by education and programmer by desire, Alex (or Zav, as he is known to friends and adversaries) was drawn to multimedia in 1987 while still in college.

After relocating to San Francisco in the early days of interactive media, Alex joined Macromedia (then Macromind). There he participated in the development of Macromedia's flagship multimedia authoring environment, Director, and was a member of the first three Shockwave development teams.

With a strong background in multimedia development, quality assurance, video system integration and user-focused interface design, he has developed numerous multimedia projects, tools and source code libraries for clients both small and Fortune 500.
