Knowledge is power

...or, so goes the popular refrain. Certainly, history has shown us the power of the press to transform social, political and commercial landscapes. Though Gutenberg could not have imagined today's communication technologies, he has clearly inspired them in many ways: more than five centuries later, we still have (e)mail, (online) books and (cyber) newsrooms.

In the spirit of recognizing the importance of being informed, and central to our commitment to excellence, ARROW regularly collects and shares information which is up-to-date, interesting and relevant to our clients (and site visitors). To these ends, our news department scours the internet in search of information which will broaden your business horizons, and, perhaps, nourish your own intellectual appetites.

ARROW. The power to drive your business. Closer.

Movable history

While Johannes Gutenberg is widely credited with inventing the printing press in 1436, such an observation is more of a technical distinction than an historical absolute. In fact, the earliest dated printed book is the Chinese "Diamond Sutra" of 868 CE. And, although Gutenberg used replaceable wooden and metal letters in his contraption, movable clay type was used nearly four centuries earlier in China. Now, who was it they say invented the internet...?
